Harris Oracoy, Head Chef

  • “As I grew up from a family who really loves to cook, the kitchen became my playground and my library. For me, cooking is therapeutic and is a really enjoyable experience.”

    Smoked BurrataGrowing up in the Philippines, Chef Harris got an early start working at a bakery to help his family. He soon developed a passion for cooking and pursued a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Before joining Sodexo’s Energy & Resources segment, he spent several years working in various restaurants in the Philippines and the hospitality industry including Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Hilton Hotel, Movenpick Hotel and other major resorts.

    “I’ve been in the mining industry for more than seven years now. For the past three years, I’ve been based at various Energy and Resources contracts across Western Australia. This includes several IFMS contracts: Wickham, Nammundi, Brockman 4, Jerriwah, Brockman 2 and Jundunmunnah Village. Recently, I’ve joined the FMG portfolio. I commenced as a Sous Chef and with Sodexo’s support and training, I have been able to secure a Head Chef role.”

    Harris aspires to continue developing his career with Sodexo, “In the next five years, as I continue to develop my knowledge and skills, I’d like to take on the role of Catering Manager or Regional Head Chef.
