Sodexo has been awarded a 5 year contract by the Western Australian Government.

Perth, Friday 29 July, 2016 – Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services, has been awarded a five year contract with two extension options of 5 years each by the Western Australian Government to manage and operate the new 254 bed women’s Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility (Melaleuca).

Sodexo has been in negotiation with the State after being named as the preferred operator early last month.

Melaleuca will commence operating in December 2016.

As part of the contract Sodexo will be developing partnerships with Western Australian non-government organisations to provide culturally appropriate rehabilitation and reintegration services and programs to help the women successfully reintegrate back into the community and reduce their risks of reoffending.

“Another essential element of bid is our strong commitment to improving the quality of life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, continuously and sustainably.  Our Western Australia dedicated Indigenous Diversity team will assist with the implementation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focused strategies in contracts Sodexo is awarded in the justice sector.  This team is involved in the day-to-day engagement of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and implement activities outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan.”
