Sodexo and Telethon: A Partnership for WA Kids

At Sodexo Australia, our purpose is to create a better every day for everyone to build a better life for all. This mission extends beyond our camps, villages, and sites, and into the communities we live and work. We believe that doing good business in a good way has a powerful, positive impact. This conviction was on full display through our recent partnership with Telethon, an organisation dedicated to the health and wellbeing of children in Western Australia.

We are incredibly proud to announce that through a combined effort of generosity and community spirit, Sodexo Australia raised an amazing $20,000. The 58th Telethon raised a record-breaking $90,160,275, and it was a privilege to play a role in this achievement.

A Community United for a Cause

Our partnership with Telethon brought together our teams, residents, and clients for a cause that matters deeply: supporting sick, vulnerable, and disadvantaged children. Across Western Australia, more than 70 of our sites transformed everyday moments into opportunities to make a significant difference.

 

Around 17,500 residents were invited to participate in a diverse range of events and activities, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy while supporting the cause. From trivia nights and music bingo to pool and darts competitions, the events brought the community together.

Contributions flowed through on-the-spot and online donations, while a special menu item, ‘The Donator’ Kransky Dog, became a standout favourite – transforming a simple meal into a meaningful act of giving. Every dollar raised through these initiatives directly supported Telethon’s vital work.

The Impact of Our Collective Effort

The funds raised by Telethon have a far-reaching impact on children and families across WA. This support is channelled into critical areas to ensure children have the best possible opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

Telethon supports:

•    161 beneficiary organisations that provide direct assistance.
•    212 programs and services offering care and support.
•    41 research programs dedicated to finding cures and better treatments for childhood diseases.
 

Knowing that our contribution helps fuel this incredible network of support reinforces our commitment to social impact. It is a clear example of how our actions can create positive change and strengthen the communities we are part of.

To cap off a wonderful campaign, we were honoured to receive a special shoutout from Telethon on Channel 7 for our contribution. We are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to continuing our journey of making a meaningful difference.
