Merrilyn Amies – Unilever Reception and Admin Coordinator

Performing key administration duties front of house at Unilever, Merrilyn Amies is the first face to greet visitors and clients on behalf of Sodexo. Beyond her welcoming duties, however, is a woman who has embraced all aspects of her job and eagerly accepts new challenges with a focus on solutions.

Performing key administration duties front of house at Unilever, Merrilyn Amies is the first face to greet visitors and clients on behalf of Sodexo. Beyond her welcoming duties, however, is a woman who has embraced all aspects of her job and eagerly accepts new challenges with a focus on solutions. 

Prior to her transition to Sodexo in 2015, Merrilyn worked 12 years exclusively with Unilever where she received the ‘Hero Award’, acknowledging her impeccable work ethos and commitment to going above and beyond in her duties. While the nominations for this award were typically peer to peer, Merrilyn was nominated for this title by the organisations board members, who, ultimately, put her forward for her current position, as admin coordinator, at Sodexo. 

In 2018, Merrilyn was the proud recipient of ‘Unilever Employee of the Year’ from her desk at Sodexo. Merrilyn is regarded as a role model to her female colleagues and is described by her peers as ‘an asset to Sodexo’ and a ‘wealth of knowledge’. Her adaptability and willingness to grow has established Merrilyn as a prominent woman in Sodexo’s workforce and an inspiration to others.  

The acknowledgement and support Merrilyn has received over time with Sodexo and Unilever has given her the confidence to continue her great work performance, and has 
positioned her a central member of the Sodexo community.
