Sodexo Teams Across WA Unite for Telethon 2026 inspired by little Telethon star Izzy

Sodexo Australia is rallying its village communities across Western Australia to
support Telethon 2026, with the goal of raising $25,000 for sick, disadvantaged and
vulnerable children.

Drawing inspiration from Little Telethon Star Izzy Miller, Sodexo employees and village residents are being encouraged to don superhero capes and tiaras at a series of events in October as a show of support for children facing serious health challenges.

Throughout October, Sodexo’s 70+ remote sites across Western Australia and its Perth office will host a range of fundraising activities, bringing together thousands of residents, guests and employees in support of Telethon. Every dollar raised will go directly to Telethon.

The initiative builds on Sodexo's successful fundraising efforts in 2025 and reflects the organisation's ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of regional Western Australian communities.

The "Superheroes and Tiaras for Telethon" campaign has been inspired by five-year-old Little Telethon Star Izzy Miller, who recently completed treatment for high-risk neuroblastoma after undergoing chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and radiation treatment.

Following the end of her cancer journey, Izzy proudly rang the bell at Perth Children's Hospital to celebrate the start of a new chapter of healing and recovery.

Throughout the fundraising campaign, Sodexo teams and village residents will be encouraged to wear tiaras in recognition of Izzy's courage, resilience and positive spirit, while helping to raise much-needed funds for Telethon beneficiaries across Western Australia.

A major focus of Sodexo’s fundraising efforts this year will be the return of the popular "Donator" Cheese Kransky hotdog initiative served across all sites featuring village taverns. Every dollar raised through the campaign will be donated directly to Telethon.

Other activities hosted through Sodexo’s Thrive WFX wellness program will include fundraising events such as trivia nights, music bingo, and pool and darts competitions.

Sodexo volunteers will also participate in the Telethon Call Centre during Telethon Weekend on 17 and 18 October, helping to process donations from generous Western Australians. Keith Weston, Managing Director of Sodexo Australia, said the Telethon partnership provided an opportunity for Sodexo's people to support an organisation that has made a profound difference to countless Western Australian families.

Telethon has become part of the fabric of Western Australia, helping to fund life-changing medical research, equipment, services and support for children and families when they need it most.

"Our teams live and work in communities right across regional Western Australia, so we're proud to play a role in supporting an organisation that delivers such a meaningful impact for families across the State."

"This year, we're encouraging everyone to put on a superhero cape or tiara and get involved. Izzy's story is a powerful reminder of the courage shown by so many children facing health challenges, and we hope it inspires our teams and village communities to get behind this important cause and help us reach our fundraising target."

Funds raised through Telethon support medical research, specialised equipment, essential services and community programs for sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Western Australia.

Telethon has raised more than $778 million since its inception in 1968 for medical research into childhood diseases, and equipment, critical services and life-changing opportunities for sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Western Australia.
