Sodexo Awarded Multi-Year Contract Extension With Westgold Resources

The renewed five-year, five-village agreement will see Sodexo expand its delivery of integrated village services for Westgold Resources sites in the Goldfields and Murchison.

Sodexo Australia (Sodexo) has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver integrated village services and industrial mine site cleaning across Westgold Resources’ operations in Western Australia’s Goldfields and Murchison regions.

The renewed agreement, with an estimated value of more than $100 million over five years, covers five remote villages including Westgold’s new Higginsville village, mobilised in December last year and located north of Norseman.

With a strong focus on enhancing the resident experience, the new contract will deliver a range of essential services across Westgold’s facilities, including village management and accommodation services for approximately 1,500 rooms. It also includes catering and food services, industrial mine site cleaning, and a range of recreation and leisure facilities.

The contract is expected to support over 100 jobs at Sodexo, while creating new employment and procurement opportunities for people in the Goldfields region.

Following the recent completion of a new 40-room project at Westgold’s Big Bell village, along with 40 rooms at Bluebird village and 24 rooms at Fortnum - Sodexo will work with Westgold to deliver significant expansion and refurbishment works, including additional accommodation and various facility upgrades. A new wastewater treatment project is also planned for Bluebird and Fortnum villages.
