Australia, 2 August, 2018 – Sodexo has been awarded the ‘Workforce Innovation’ Award for its ‘Gamified Microlearning’ initiative at AMMA’s 2018 Centenary Celebration annual Gala Dinner in Melbourne.

Sodexo received the award for implementing its innovative initiative ‘Gamified Microlearning’ to its Mental Health Awareness training across its Australian business in last year. The program provides employees with engaging training through the use of gamification which uses the fun aspects of games (play, fun and challenging) in a microlearning environment (short and focused bursts of learning).

‘Gamified Microlearning’ has been successful in enabling Sodexo’s employees to complete mental health training using their smart device at a time convenient for them. Using instructional design and adult learning principles, lesson plans were developed incorporating visuals, quizzes and gamification targeted to the audience and designed for maximum impact.

The interface was architected to operate similar to social media apps to answer questions with 87 per cent completion rate amongst Supervisors and Managers.

Sarah Bendy, Sodexo HR Director, Australia, says: “Sodexo is honoured to receive this award as recognition of our focus on mental health awareness. Mental Health Awareness is area we are dedicated to improving, both internally and externally, in our efforts to improve the quality of life for everyone.
