Sodexo in Australia has partnered with Sunshine Coast TAFE to crystallise its global commitment to personal and professional growth through a Management Development Program (MDP) delivered nationally by the TAFE.

The TAFE developed a collaborative approach to providing Sodexo with a fully tailored and customised management program which will award participants a nationally recognised Diploma of Management.

“Being customised to our core values such as Safety Leadership, has meant increased uptake which will significantly develop our management capability, drive consistency in our operations and promote an inclusive team based culture across the business,” Raj Verma, HR Director said.

“What has been especially rewarding with Sodexo is they are a company committed to investing in its people at a time when the economy is contracting and other companies are potentially downsizing,” said Ross Hepworth, Director, Sunshine Coast TAFE.

The key for Sodexo’s leadership team was to make the course highly interactive with strong networking opportunities for colleagues across the country. To date all of Sodexo’s managers who have undergone Tier One of the course have provided enthusiastic reviews on the benefits it has already brought them in their jobs.
The MDP is a key element in Sodexo’s employee value proposition to make individual growth a priority. An externally accredited program means that the knowledge gained will be a legacy from Sodexo to the employee for personal and professional growth, wherever their career takes them.

It is expected that all of Sodexo’s managers will undertake the MDP accreditation as part of their professional development.

Sunshine Coast TAFE won the tender to deliver the program as a result of the stirring and thought-provoking presentation on ‘Safety Leadership’ and the strength and talent of their teaching team.
