Corey Narkle - Assistant Village Manager

    A proud Noongar Man from southern Western Australia, Corey joined Sodexo in 2018 as a casual relief pool working in Housekeeping or as a Kitchen Hand. This started his humble journey to becoming a young people leader within the business. 

    Advancing the skills of Aboriginal employees wishing to step into a leadership role, or those wishing to develop their capabilities, Corey was offered to step up as a Housekeeping supervisor at Hamilton Village in Port Hedland after just one year. Corey thoroughly enjoyed his newfound responsibilities, and in 2020, he was offered the role of Cleaning Manager. 

    In appreciation of his achievements, Corey undertook the role of Trainee Village Manager in mid-2021 with the full support of his team and manager. Completing his traineeship, he eventually stepped into his current role as Assistant Village Manager at Japukayinya Village in the Pilbara.

    Corey says: “Sodexo has pushed me to achieve my potential, helped me with my personal career goals and believed in me to do the best job I can.” 

    “I always wanted to work through and step up with opportunities in my career. I feel accomplished by being the only Aboriginal Person in my current position [at Japukayinya Village].”

    No matter where his career takes him, Corey will continue to be a shining example of remarkable growth in his community. Corey’s can-do attitude and impressive work ethic is a real asset to the organisation and we wish him much success in his future.
