Finding belonging through opportunity

When Stacey Lovett joined Sodexo Australia, she was looking for more than a new role. She wanted to be part of a workplace where people supported one another, where there was room to grow, and where she could bring her whole self to work.

Today, as Accommodation and Administration Supervisor at Carmichael Camp 6, Stacey helps keep site operations running smoothly while creating a positive experience for residents, visitors and her team.

It's a role that combines organisation, teamwork and problem-solving, but for Stacey, it's the people who have made the biggest difference.

Bringing culture to work

As an Aboriginal woman, Stacey says her culture has shaped the way she approaches her work and the relationships she builds with others.

Respect, teamwork and caring for people are values that have always been important to her. She has found those same values reflected in Sodexo's culture, allowing her to share her perspective while learning from colleagues with different backgrounds and experiences.

Being part of a diverse workplace has strengthened her sense of belonging and reinforced that she can be herself at work.

Being part of Sodexo has allowed me to contribute to something bigger — creating opportunities, supporting others, and helping the team succeed. That's what makes the work meaningful.

Looking back, Stacey says the guidance she's received from leaders, Indigenous Affairs Mentors and colleagues has played an important role in her journey.

From helping her navigate new responsibilities to encouraging her professional development, that support has given her the confidence to continue learning and growing.
It's also why she encourages others considering a career with Sodexo to take the opportunity.
She believes it's a place where people are supported from day one, where teamwork matters, and where there's genuine opportunity to build a long-term career.
