Our stated mission - improving the quality of daily life - endows Sodexo with a special responsibility. We understand the importance of providing tangible value to our host country and the communities surrounding each project.
Through our innovative Xchange program, we seek to employ local indigenous workers and use local indigenous suppliers. This establishes durable long-term partnerships which benefit local communities long after we move on. It takes our efforts beyond the site environment and beyond ourselves.
At Sodexo we consider our corporate social responsibility is critical to meeting our mission and constantly look for new initiatives that enable us to “give back”. We contribute to the economic and social development of the regions where we operate by:
- Mentoring Indigenous business managers
- Assisting with the provision and installation of business systems
- Encouraging major contractors to work in joint ventures with indigenous companies
- Supporting education and training in innovative ways
- Changing operational aspects to suite local Indigenous employees
- Changing personnel practices to accommodate cultural and social needs
- Coordinating local indigenous mentors who understand indigenous employees
- Providing support and advice in the financial management of developing organisations
- Establishing ongoing cross-cultural training.
