STOP Hunger - local commitment

Sodexo is committed to the communities where we operate... every day, our community engagement initiatives strengthen and support those communities and improve the quality of life for the people living there. Our programs reflect our business activities because that's what we do best.

CB_corporatecitizenship_stophungerAs a world leader in food and management services, Sodexo serves millions of people each day. But there are so many we can't serve - almost one billion people around the world are malnourished. Sodexo is dedicated to being a driving and creative force that contributes to a world that is free of hunger and malnutrition.

Sodexo's STOP Hunger program began more than 10 years ago and now is active in more than 25 Sodexo host countries. Hundreds of hunger relief activities take place each year.

In 2005, we launched the STOP Hunger campaign in Australia, which aims to combat poor nutrition in our local communities and provide a central focus for our community-related activities.

STOP Hunger consists of four main components:

  • Volunteering - translating our “spirit of service” to support local communities

  • Sharing Sodexo Knowledge - education and training for the unemployed, homeless and marginalised

  • Food Donations - perishable and non-perishable food for hunger relief

  • Financial Donations - sponsorship and support for quality programs.

STOP Hunger is another expression of Sodexo's mission to improve quality of life.
