We provide the following guidelines to help you communicate with us efficiently and to enable you to submit to us the information that highlights your experience and relevant skills. Your work history, professional achievements and ambitions are important to us. We want to enable you to effectively convey them to us in the best possible light.
Ensure your name, contact number and email address appear in the header on each page of your resume so that we can see them easily, even if a page goes missing.
Include page numbers for each page (more than 4 pages is becoming too large).
Have your personal details listed first on Page 1. Pictures are entirely optional, but be mindful of the size of the picture you have attached to your document.
Then list your education history and qualifications, if applicable; be succinct, but be prepared to provide evidence of the qualification.
Consider providing a paragraph outlining your career achievements or summary to date. This should be no more than 4-5 lines.
Then list your career history with the most recent positions listed first and subsequent listings in reverse chronological order.
List dates in the position first, in bold type so as to be clearly visible, then the position held, also in bold.
Then a brief description of the role and responsibilities of the position and successes you may have achieved in that position.
References will be required to proceed; they do not need to be listed on your resume but you should have professional references ready to forward to us when requested.
Your resume should be in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
What makes the difference between you and other applicants for the same position?
The interview is an opportunity for you to present yourself in the best possible light to Sodexo. Be confident and be prepared to answer questions that verify and confirm what you have already listed in your resume.
Prepare yourself for the interview by learning about Sodexo from this website or www.sodexo.com
Prepare questions you want to ask.
You may be required to conduct skills and/or behavioural tests on-line as part of the recruitment process (depending on the position you are applying for). These are not pass/fail tests but form part of the process of ensuring Sodexo learns about how you, as a potential team member, will deal with the challenges of the position in the future and how you will influence the culture of the team you are joining.
Have copies of certification/qualifications that verify those you have stated in your resume.
Have professional references available upon request, that you are prepared to have Sodexo contact to verify your previous work history.
Note that there are a number of roles with Sodexo that may require a Police Check and/or a Working with Children Check to be completed.
Do take with you to the interview another copy of your resume that you are prepared to leave with the interviewer. This should be on A4 paper and simply stapled in the top right corner (no plastic sleeves or folders please).
You may be asked to complete a medical check as part of the recruitment process. This will be arranged in consultation with you and at no cost to you.
